Dear Diary,
I cannot believe I’m already at the end of my second week at Vault X! Time clearly flies when you’re getting to grips with TCG knowledge and accessories (I’m pretty sure I dreamt about an Exo-Tec® Zip Binder the other night) and drinking a slightly alarming amount of coffee.
Bank Holiday Monday set the week off with a leisurely start. The 9-5 lifestyle – more like 8-6 when you account for the ridiculous local bus times – is not for the faint-hearted. I’m glad to say, though, I now feel well accustomed to it, and I’m actually taking a liking to the early start! Who is this new me?
Tuesday was very exciting with the launch of our new SV10 Binders, inspired by the latest Pokémon expansion ‘Destined Rivals’– a tribute to Team Rocket. The buzz and anticipation in the office were infectious. Once the clock struck 2 pm, sales began to blast, and it was amazing watching the teams’ hard work pay off. I spent a lot of the afternoon looking at analytics from all over the world. Admittedly, I didn’t quite understand what I was looking at. I did see lots of lines going up, though, which I assume was a good sign. It’s lucky I wasn’t employed as the Sales and Analytics Intern…
This week also marked the launch of another blog release. My blog advertises the SV10 Binders and hones in on their significance.
It was super interesting learning about Team Rocket in the run-up to the launch and the nostalgia that the latest set holds. Team Rocket was the fifth main Pokémon expansion, released in 2000, and is based around the infamous trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth, who try to capture different Pokémon. Of course, it was only right that I got my own pack of ‘The Glory of Team Rocket’ cards to open…
AND…
I GOT A DOUBLE RARE CARD!
My eyes lit up and my heart was racing. I couldn’t believe I got a double rare card! I could now totally understand the thrill of opening a pack of cards and realising that you have scored complete gold. I of course put my treasure into a card sleeve straight away and stored it safely in my room once I got home.
However, my dreams were short-lived. The team informed me the next day that my prized possession was worth less than a mere £2. Sad times. In my opinion, you can’t put a price on opening your first double-rare…
I soon lightened up after I was kindly given my FIRST BINDER – a lovely 4-Pocket Exo-Tec® Zip Binder in red. The perfect colour to match my Glory of Team Rocket cards!
The rest of the week consisted of me drafting scripts ready to create content next week. I am a bit nervous about content creation day, as recording TikToks is something I’m less experienced in; however, I’m really looking forward to the learning process and the fun that goes into making videos. I’ve also got two new blogs up my sleeve which I’m looking forward to publishing soon, so definitely stay tuned!
